Our Limited Edition Yoshihiro Hayate Series is forged with extraordinary skill and exquisitely hand-sharpened by our master artisans. This particular knife series has been forged in extremely high temperatures to achieve a hardness level that is unusual in VG-10 stainless steel knives. The knife is then meticulously hand-sharpened with great care and skill in order to achieve a perfect balance between high-performance and the ease of maintenance from a semi-stainless steel blade. Our Hayate Series is complimented with a traditional Japanese style handcrafted Rosewood handle with Ebony bolster equipped with a protective wooden sheath called a “Saya,” which protects the knife and adds to its appearance when not in use. This specific Saya included with the knife is brush coated with non-toxic lacquer coating made from organic tree sap in Japan.
