Blue Steel #2 with a hardness on the Rockwell scale of 63 to 64, is forged with iron to create beautiful mist patterns, and an emphasis is placed on refined forging and polishing with the highest attention to detail. This knife is part of a limited edition that has the Japanese lacquering technique of Fuki Urushi on its Japanese style handcrafted Magnolia wood handle affixed with a Water Buffalo horn bolster, and a Fuki Urushi lacquered Magnolia wood protective sheath called a Saya with indentations called Chinagashi that are usually seen on Samurai sword sheaths.
